Who We Are
Vlad is the founder of Ormos Non-Profit Fund. He had a vision of forming an organization which works with disadvantaged youth in the former Soviet Union after becoming a volunteer with a youth club in Moldova. Vlad was born in Kyrgyzstan and grew up in Moldova. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Education from the State University of Moldova, and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies.
Since 2001, Vlad has been living in Canada where he has worked in the banking industry. Simultaneously, Vlad has been volunteering with a home-based hospice in Toronto, charities helping patients with leukemia in Moldova and Russia as well as other organizations. Vlad has worked with missions and relief organizations helping rebuild communities destroyed by the hurricanes in the United States and assisting with the development of microfinancing programs in Eastern Europe. All this experience has provided him with a good grasp of the needs of various communities which he further enhanced with MBA in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia in 2015.
Niko has had a lifelong passion working as a volunteer at the grassroots level with community organizations serving diverse populations, including youth through to seniors from all walks of life. Niko was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and has lived there ever since. He graduated from York University’s Schulich School of Business with a Bachelor in Business Administration.
Niko has worked in the public sector in various roles within the fields of social services and adult education. He has also worked in the private sector in the consumer packaged goods industry. He began volunteering as a youth with the Meals on Wheels program, and from there became involved with various non-profit and not-for-profit organizations such as Sunshine Dreams for Kids, Young Adult League groups and seniors programs in the local Greek community, as well as currently working as a group facilitator and mentor for newcomers to Canada as part of WoodGreen Community Services. Niko brings his drive, entrepreneurial spirit and passion for advocacy to every project.
Corneliu was born and raised in Moldova where he later graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the Technical University of Moldova in 2009. Since 2011, he has been living in the Calgary, Alberta area of Canada, working in the construction industry there.
He has volunteered in various capacities with many organizations back in Moldova, such as the youth centre for children and youth with disabilities in Chisinau, the capital city, a national non-profit working in poverty relief, a food bank and social mission outside of Chisinau, and many others. During the winter of 2015-16, Corneliu also volunteered as a breakfast program coordinator at St. John the Compassionate Mission in Toronto where he exemplified his dedication to serving homeless people. Corneliu sincerely believes that only by helping the homeless and those less fortunate can the world become a better place for all in which to live.
Ivan was born in Moldova. He graduated from the International Independent University of Moldova with a Bachelor in Economic Studies degree. He gained financial experience and expertise as a Senior Auditor for KPMG Moldova, and later worked as a financial manager for various Moldovan companies.
Several years ago, Ivan began supporting charitable causes in Moldova. It was through that involvement when he became friends with Vlad Litvinov. Both volunteered for Save Life, a Moldovan charity supporting children requiring urgent surgeries or advanced medical treatment abroad. Currently, Ivan is studying IT and is planning to employ his new skills working on education programs with Ormos Non-Profit Fund. In addition to that, Ivan brings energy to every idea at Ormos and is highly instrumental in the development of new programming. Ivan is married with two beautiful children. He enjoys playing chess, reading and taking long walks with his family.
